Knitting instructions:

Sizes: 34/36 (38/40) 42/44

You will need:

  • 400 (450) 500 g of coral Luxury Silk yarn (100% silk, 100 m/50 g).
  • Straight and circular knitting needles size 4.

Lace pattern with cables: initially, the number of stitches is a multiple of 13 + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Knit according to the chart, which shows only right side rows. Purl all stitches and yarn overs on wrong side rows. Start with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern, finish with the stitch after the pattern and 1 edge stitch.

Knit rows 1 and 2 once, and rows 3 to 8 eight times (= 50 rows), then rows 51 to 56 once and rows 57 to 62 six times (= 42 rows), after that rows 93 and 94 once. Now the number of stitches is a multiple of 9 + 1 + 2 edge

stitches.

Garter stitch: knit all rows.

Cross pattern: the number of stitches is a multiple of 9 + 1 + 2 edge stitches. Also knit according to a chart, which shows only right side rows. Purl all stitches on wrong side rows or as indicated. Start with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern, finish with the stitch after the pattern and 1 edge stitch. Repeat from row 1 to row 4.

Gauge:

Lace pattern with cables: 21 stitches and 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm; cross pattern: 21 stitches and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm. Knitting the tunic:

Back: Cast on 120 (133) 146 stitches and knit 1 wrong side row knitwise. This row is not counted in the subsequent row count. Then knit in the lace pattern with cables, performing decreases in rows 51 and 93 (= 2 stitches in each pattern repeat), as indicated = 84 (93) 102 stitches. After 35 cm = 94 rows from the cast-on edge, start knitting in the cross pattern. After 20.5 cm = 58 rows (18.5 cm = 52 rows) 16.5 cm = 46 rows from changing the pattern, bind off 3 stitches at each side for the armholes, and in every 2nd row, bind off 2 x 2 and 3 x 1 stitches = 64 (73) 82 stitches.

After 34 cm = 96 rows from changing the pattern, bind off the middle 36 (39) 40 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately. For the rounding, bind off 3 stitches on the inner edge in the next 2nd row. After 35.5 cm = 100 rows from changing the pattern, bind off the remaining 11 (14) 18 shoulder stitches on each side.

Front: Knit the same way, but for a deeper neckline bind off the middle 22 (25) 26 stitches after 27 cm = 76 rows from changing the pattern, and on the inner edge, bind off 1 x 3, 2 x 2, and 3 x 1 stitches.

Sleeves: Cast on 53 (62) 71 stitches and knit 1 wrong side row knitwise. Then knit in the cross pattern, starting with 1 edge stitch and stitches from arrow A, knit 4 (5) 6 repeats, finishing with stitches to arrow B and 1 edge stitch. Additionally, knit rows 3 and 4 once, then repeat from row 1 to 4.

After 3.5 cm = 10 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off 3 stitches at each side for the sleeve cap shaping, then * in the next 2nd row, bind off 1 x 1 stitch and in the following 4th row, bind off 1 x 1 stitch, repeat from * 6 more times, after that in every 2nd row, bind off 3 x 1 and 1 x 2 stitches (4 x 2 stitches) 1 x 2 and 3 x 3 stitches. After 22 cm = 62 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the remaining 9 (12) 15 stitches.

Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams. For the neckline, pick up 78 (84) 86 stitches on circular needles, knit 1 round purlwise and bind off all stitches knitwise. Set in sleeves, sew side seams and sleeve seams.
