  • 500 (550) 600 g of blue yarn (100% cotton, 85 m/50 g).
  • Straight needles size 5.
  • Crochet hook size 4.5.

Stockinette stitch: knit rows - knit stitches, purl rows - purl stitches.

Raglan decreases: from the right edge, slip 1 stitch, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over; from the left edge, knit 2 stitches together, edge stitch.

Gauge, leaf pattern: 19.5 stitches and 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Work description:

Back: cast on 94 (107) 120 stitches and knit the leaf pattern between the edge stitches. After 47 (45) 43 cm from the cast-on edge, decrease 1 stitch on both sides for the raglan slants, in every 2nd row 5 (9) 15 times 1 stitch, and in every 4th row 3 (2) 0 times 1 stitch, as described above. After 60 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off the remaining stitches.

Front: knit as the back, but with a neckline cutout. To do this, after 52 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off the middle 24 (31) 36 stitches and finish both sides separately. On the neckline side, bind off in every 2nd row 1 time 10, 1 time 5, 1 time 4, 1 time 3, 1 time 2, and 2 times 1 stitch. At the back height, all stitches will be bound off.

Neckline placket: cast on 24 stitches and knit stockinette stitch between the edge stitches. After 66 (70) 74 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off the stitches. Sew the cast-on and bound-off edges together.

Bottom placket of the tunic: cast on 21 stitches and knit stockinette stitch between the edge stitches. After 140 (150) 160 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off the stitches.

Assembly: sew the side seams, leaving the bottom 10 cm of the left side seam open for a slit. Edge the slit with 1 row of single crochet and 1 row of "crab stitch" (= single crochet from left to right). Gather the front and back neckline to 19 (20) 21 cm and attach the placket so that 14 (15) 16 cm remain free on both sides for the shoulders. Evenly gather the bottom of the tunic to 82 (92) 102 cm and sew the placket to the bottom edge. Edge the armholes and the top edge of the neckline placket with 1 round of single crochet and 1 round of "crab stitch".
