You will need: Katia Cotton Comfort yarn (84% cotton, 16% polyamide; 50 g/150 m): 50 g each of No. 24 light green, No. 14 turquoise, No. 13 blue, and No. 12 lilac colors; ADDI No. 3 needles.

Knitting gauge: 10 x 10 cm = 28 sts x 48 rows in stockinette stitch with No. 3 needles.

Description of work:

Using the No. 3 needles and light green yarn, cast on 24 (34) sts and knit 6 rows in 2x2 ribbing, beginning and ending with 2 knit sts. Continue knitting, maintaining the sequence of alternating stripes as follows: 2 rows with light green yarn, 2 rows with lilac yarn, 2 rows with light green yarn, 2 rows with blue yarn, 2 rows with light green yarn, 2 rows with turquoise yarn, repeat from * to *. Knit in this manner for 20 rows.

Heel: in the right side row, continue with light green yarn, distributing sts as follows: 8 knit sts and the remaining 26 sts on a spare needle. On the 8 sts, knit another 7 rows, maintaining the sequence of alternating stripes and distributing the sts as follows: 3 knit sts, slip 1 st to the right needle, 1 knit st and pull it through the slipped st, turn work, 4 purl sts, repeat 3 times from * to *. Along the edge of the last 8 sts, pick up 6 sts with light green yarn and knit 26 sts from the spare needle = 36 sts. In the purl row, knit 8 sts and slip the next 28 sts onto a spare needle. On the 8 sts, knit 7 rows, maintaining the sequence of alternating stripes. In the following (purl) row, knit 3 purl sts, purl 2 together, turn work, 4 knit sts, repeat 3 times from * to *. In the following (purl) row, along the edge of the last knitted 8 sts, pick up 6 sts and then knit 28 sts from the spare needle = 38 sts.

With a contrasting thread, mark the central 16 sts. Then knit, maintaining the sequence of alternating stripes and decreasing sts on one side as follows: in the knit row, before the central 16 sts, knit 2 together and after the central 16 sts, slip 1 st to the right needle, knit 1 st and pull it through the slipped st. Finish the row. The next purl row, knit purl sts, repeat 5 times from * to * = 26 sts. Then knit straight for 42 rows, maintaining the sequence of alternating stripes. Then knit 6 rows in stockinette stitch with lilac yarn, after that proceed as follows: in the 1st row, knit every 4th and 5th st together = 21 sts. Knit 1 row in purl, knitting every 4th and 5th st together = 17 sts. Knit 1 row in purl. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail, thread the tail through a needle and pull it through the remaining 17 sts, draw tight and secure the yarn.

Knit the second sock in the same way.
