Knitting instructions:

Sizes: 56/62 (68/74)

You will need: 50 g of white yarn I love you (100% merino wool, 225 m/50 g); also a little white yarn Mako-8 (100% mercerized cotton, 225 m/50 g); circular needles No. 2.5; a hook No. 0.75; a blue satin ribbon 200 cm long.

Garter stitch: knit all rows.

Fancy pattern: Row 1: knit. Row 2 and all wrong side rows: purl. Row 3: 3 knit, 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, * 4 knit, knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, 8 knit, 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, repeat from *, end with 3 knit. Row 5: knit.

Lace pattern: follow the diagram showing only knit rows, purl all stitches and yarn overs on the wrong side rows. Repeat the stitches of the repeat, ending with the stitch after the repeat. Knit once from Row 1 to Row 24.

Lace edging: Row 1: single crochet. Row 2: * 1 single crochet, chain 3, skip 1 stitch, repeat from *.

Gauge, garter stitch: 31 sts and 58 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Work description

With circular needles and I love you yarn, cast on 11 stitches and knit in lace pattern = 107 stitches. Bind off the first 14 stitches, on the remaining 93 stitches, knit 20 rows in garter stitch, 6 rows in fancy pattern 2, 12 rows in garter stitch, and 6 rows in fancy pattern 2. Then, knit 1 row as follows: * 2 knit, 1 yarn over, repeat from *, end with 1 knit = 138 stitches. After that, knit 1 row knit, knitting the yarn overs twisted. Knit another 10 rows in garter stitch and bind off the stitches.

Assembly: sew the cap seam over 24 rows of lace pattern. At the lower edge with circular needles and I love you yarn, cast on 64 stitches, knit 2 rows in garter stitch, 6 rows in fancy pattern 2, and 4 rows in garter stitch. Bind off stitches. Edge all open edges with lace edging using Mako-8 yarn.

Cut the satin ribbon into 2 pieces each 55 cm long and 1 piece 90 cm long. Divide the short satin ribbons again and thread, as shown in the photo, through a row of holes from the fancy pattern, tie into bows and sew the ends. Thread the long satin ribbon through the outer loops of the ruffle and tie into a bow.
