Size 13 (9 mm) circular needles, 29" or longer

Gauge: 11 sts = 4" in stockinette stitch on size 13 (9 mm) needles (before blocking)

Pattern notes:
Shawl is worked from center back neck outward. Increases at each side and center back shape the shawl into a triangle.

Beginning at center back neck, cast on 5 sts.
Knit 2 rows.
Begin pattern:
Row 1 (right side)(edge increases begin): K2, place marker, yo, K1, yo, place marker, K2 (7 sts)
Row 2 (wrong side) and all even rows (no increases): K2, purl to last 2 sts, K2, slipping all markers as you come to them.
Row 3 (edge increases continue): K2, sl marker, yo, K3, yo, sl marker, K2 (9 sts)
Row 5 (edge increases continue): K2, sl marker, yo, K5, yo, sl marker, K2 (11 sts)
Row 7 (edge increases continue and center increases begin): K2, sl marker, yo, K2, yo, place marker, K3, place marker, yo, K2, yo, sl marker, K2 (15 sts)
Row 9 (edge and center increases continue): K2, sl marker, yo, K4, yo, sl marker, K3, sl marker, yo, K4, yo, sl marker, K2 (19 sts)
Row 11 (edge and center increases continue): K2, sl marker, yo, K6, yo, sl marker, K3, sl marker, yo, K6, yo, sl marker, K2 (23 sts)
Continue to work in established pattern until shawl is desired length, reserving enough yarn for final 8 rows and bind-off. Place yo's on right side rows only as follows: yo after 1st and 3rd markers, yo before 2nd and 4th markers. Stitches will increase inside K2 edging at both sides of shawl and on both sides of center 3 sts. Work all wrong side rows as Row 2, and end on a wrong side row before working border.
Border: Beginning on a right side row and maintaining yo increases at markers, knit 4 rows.
Next row (right side): K2, sl marker, yo, K2, *yo, K2 tog, rep from * to next marker, yo, sl marker, K1, yo, K1, yo, K1, sl next marker, **yo, K2 tog, rep from ** to last 4 sts, yo, K2, yo, sl marker, K2.
Next row: Knit across.
Next row: Knit across, maintaining yo increases at markers.
Next row: Knit across.
Bind off VERY LOOSELY. Fasten off and weave in ends. Following care instructions on yarn label, block shawl to shape and leave to dry.
