  • 25 g of Bright Gold Lurex Yarn
  • tapestry needle

  • P: purl
  • St(s): stitch(es)

The Directions

Gold Hair Scrunchie

Using the long tail cast on, cast on 16 sts.

Row 1: Knit.

Row 2: Purl.

Repeat row 1 and row 2 until you have 70 rows.

This knitting pattern can be adapted to any size elastic tie, just knit a few extra rows if you prefer more folds or turns.

Bind off loosely knitwise leaving a substantial tail for seaming.

You have now a long rectangle: with right side facing you, sew the long ends together, making sure that you encase your elastic tie in the tube while sewing. Use an invisible seam, like the mattress stitch.

While you wrap your knit tube around the elastic tie, turn your work as you seam to create a nice twisted effect.

The cast on and cast off edges will then meet, seam them together using again the invisible mattress stitch and you’re finished! Use tapestry needle to tidy away the loose ends.

Expect added sparkle and shine to your day when wearing this hand-knit accessory!
