Pattern instructions:

Right mitten: **Cast on 39 sts.

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 3 inches, ending on a wrong side row.

Work in pattern as follows:

Row 1: (RS). P1. *K1. P1. Rep from * to end of row.

Row 2: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row.

Row 3: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row.

Row 4: P1. *K1. P1. Rep from * to end of row.

These 4 rows make the Irish moss pattern.

Work 2 more rows in pattern.

Shape Thumb Gusset:

Row 1: (RS). Work in pattern across 20 sts. Place marker. (Kfb) twice. Place marker. Work in pattern to the end of the row. (41 sts)

Rows 2 and 4: Work even in pattern, purling thumb sts between markers.

Row 3: Pat across 20 sts. Kfb. K2. Kfb. Pat to end of row. (43 sts)

Row 5: Pat across 20 sts. Kfb. K4. Kfb. Work in pattern to the end of the row. (45 sts)

Row 6: Work even in pattern, purling thumb sts between markers.
