Knitted Bunny Easter Egg

Materials:
- Yarn: #4 worsted weight yarn
- Needles: Size US 7 straight knitting needles
- Also needed: fiber fill, yarn needles, eyes and noses
Gauge: Not necessary for this project
Size: Bunny measures approximately 4 1/2 tall (not including the ears)
Pattern instructions:
For the bunny:
Cast on 6 sts.
Row 1: KFB across row (12 sts)
Row 2: Purl across row.
Row 3: K1, KFB across row (18 sts)
Row 4: Purl across row.
Row 5: K2, KFB across row (24 sts)
Rows 6- 20: starting a purl row, work in stockinette stitch for 14 rows.
Row 21: K2, K2tog across row (18 sts)
Row 22: Purl across row.
Row 23: K1, K2tog across row (12 sts).
Row 24: Purl across row.
Row 25: K2tog across row (6 sts)
Break yarn and pull through remaining sts. Sew the back seam halfway. Stuff halfway with fiber fill and add eyes and nose. Finish stuffing and sew the seam closes.
For the Ears (make 2):
Cast on 6 sts, leaving a long end for sewing.
Row 1: Knit across.
Row 2: Purl across.
Rows 3-6: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.
Row 7: K2tog, knit to end — 5 sts.
Row 8: P2tog, purl to end — 4 sts.
Row 9: K2tog, knit to end — 3 sts.
Row 10: P2tog, purl to end — 2 sts.
Row 11: K2tog – 1 st.
Cut thread. Thread cut end through remaining st; fasten securely.
Sew ears to top of head. Weave in ends.
