Change to Color 2 and repeat Rows 1–36. You will have a total of 3 sections in Color 1 and 3 sections in Color 2. When changing colors, knit the first stitch instead of slipping it—but only in the row where the color change occurs.

To join the first and the last section, cut the yarn leaving a 30–35 cm tail, and use the mattress stitch to join the edges. To close the center of the doormat, gather the stitches together and secure.
