Ca 30 gr Baby Soft Schachenmayr (25 g/ 77 yrd), DK / 8 ply (11 wpi),

3 mm double pointed needles (US 2½ - 3 needles).

Special Stitches:

2x2 RIB is formed by alternating 2 knit stitches and 2 purl stitches. Care must be taken to purl the stitches which were knitted on the previous row and vice versa.

Rnd 2: k the k sts, p the p sts, exactly as stitches appear on needle
Rnd 3: *1 ps, 1 ks*
Rnd 4: k the k sts, p the p sts, exactly as stitches appear on needle

EDGE STITCHES

Slip the first stitch and purl the last stitch of every row.

INSTRUCTIONS

HAT

Cast on 86 sts (Edge sts are included). Work 8 rounds in 2x2 rib.

Work 28 rounds in moss stitch.

k2tog, 15 ks, k2tog, *14 ks, k2tog*, repeat from* to* 3 times, 15 ks, k2tog (=80 sts)

Divide stitches among 4 needles and join for knitting in the round.

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail, and with blunt needle thread tail through remaining stitches, slipping stitches off the needles. Pull tight to gather hole closed, and sew to inside of hat.

FINISHING

Pick up stitches along lower edge of bonnet and knit as follows:

Row 1: purl

Row 2: *k2tog, yo*, repeat from* to*till the end of Row.

Row 3: purl

Cast off all sts. Weave ribbon through spaces.
