Requirements:

DK yarn (100g for the smallest size, up to 350g for a 30” blanket)
4mm needles

Measurements:

Width: 16" (41cm),

Length: adjustable ......... I usually make blankets square, or a little longer than their width

Instructions:

Cast on 89 stitches - or the number of stitches suggested below for the size of blanket you wish to make

If you would like to make this baby blanket smaller or bigger ~

Then reduce or add in multiples of seven stitches (89 +/- multiples of 7)

for a Blanket of 20“ ........cast on 110sts

for a Blanket of 24“ ........cast on 131sts

for a Blanket of 28“ ........cast on 152sts

for a Blanket of 30“ ........cast on 166sts

Start with a garter stitch border - knit 9 rows

Row 10: S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

Row 11: S1, k5, kfb, k1, * s1, k2tog, psso, kfb, k1, kfb, k1, repeat from * to last 11sts, s1, k2tog, psso, kfb, k7

Row 12: Knit

Row 13: Knit

Row 14: S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6

Repeat the last 4 rows (rows 11 – 14) until you are happy with the length of the blanket

Next Row: S1, k5, kfb, k1, * s1, k2tog, psso, kfb, k1, kfb, k1, repeat from * to last 11sts, s1, k2tog, psso, kfb, k7

Finish with a garter stitch border – knit 11 rows

Cast off knitwise
