How To
Cast on 52 [60, 68, 76] sts
Join in the round, being careful not to twist sts. Place stitch marker to indicate start of round.
Brim
Work stocking stitch by knitting every round for 1 [1.5, 1.5, 1.75] in/2.5 [3.75, 3.75, 4.5] cm then work increase round once as follows:
Inc Rnd: *K2, M1; rpt from * to end [78, 90, 102, 114] sts
Body
Work plain stocking stitch (knit every round) until main Body measures 2 [2.5, 3, 3.5] in/5 [6.25, 7.5, 8.75] cm from increase round.
Crown
Next Rnd: *K11 [13, 15, 17], k2tog; rpt from * to end. [72, 84, 96, 108 sts]
Next Rnd: *K10 [12, 14, 16], k2tog; rpt from * to end. [66, 78, 90, 102 sts]
Next Rnd: *K9 [11, 13, 15], k2tog; rpt from * to end. [60, 72, 84, 96 sts]
Next Rnd: *K8 [10, 12, 14], k2tog; rpt from * to end. [54, 66, 78, 90 sts]
Carry on in this fashion decreasing 6 sts per round until you have 6 sts remaining.

Now work I-cord on the 3 remaining sts until desired length – 3in/7.5 cm is ideal for tying the I-cord in a dinky knot. (where dinky = small)
Finishing
Weave in all ends. A light blocking is recommended to help the shaping settle. It is best to block this Hat flat, as a circle, with the crown at the centre.
