Cute Knitted Dogs
Cute knitted dogs are charming handcrafted creations that bring warmth and joy to any space. Instructions:
Use number 9 (3.75 mm) or 8 (4.00 mm) knitting needles and double knitting wool.
Make 3 small pompoms, leaving plenty of wool to sew on to hat.
Body – Cast on 28 stitches
Knit 2 rows
Rows 3 to 18 – stocking stitch, starting with a knit row
Row 19 – K2, K2tog across the row (21 sts)
Row 20 – P1, P2tog across the row (14 sts)
Row 21 – K2tog across the row (7 sts)
Ears – Cast on 4 sts
Using any stitch, you wish work around 60 rows (single rib, garter, stocking or moss stitch)
Click on the picture to the left to see the brown dog which had stocking stitch ears and a white dog with ears worked in garter stitch.
Making Up:Thread needle through the 7 st and pull tight, sew the edges together.
Sew two of the pompoms on the bottom rim.
Fold the ears in half, place at the top of the hat. To sew in place, use the wool that holds the pompom together.
Using a different colour wool sew the nose and eyes.
