Instructions:
Using 3.5-4mm needles.
Body:
Row 1: In white cast on 28 stitches
Row 2: Purl 28 sts
Row 3:Change to light blue and knit 28 stitches
Rows 4 – 8: Continue in SS
Row 9: (Knit 2, K2tog) rpt to end (21sts)
Row 10: (Purl 1, P2tog) rpt to end (14sts)
Row 11: (K2tog) rpt to end (7 sts)
B&T tightly
Making up: Sew up the back seam.
Sew on a mouth in red or pink, make this approx 5 or 6 stitches wide in row 4.
Sew on two small black beads either side of the mouth, leaving one stitch between the mouth end and the eye position.
Water Spout:
Using 2.5 – 3mm crochet hook
In white, chain 7, slip stitch in the second loop from the hook, slip stitch in the next chain, chain 3.
Slip stitch in second chain from the hook, slip stitch in next 5 chains,
Sew on top of the whale and weave in the ends.
Tail:
In light blue chain 5.
Slip stitch in second chain from the hook. Work 2 x double crochet in very first chain you made.
Chain 2, slip stitch in very first chain, chain 2, 2 x double crochet in very first chain, chain 2.
Slip stitch in second chain from the hook, chain 3, slip stitch in very first chain.
Sew the tail to the 3rd row at the back of the whale, weave in the ends.
