k – knit

p – purl

st(s) – stitch(es)

sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch knitwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch

Mangrove kitchen towel knitting pattern:

Towel width: 24.5 cm (10 in)

Cast on 42 sts or any other number multiple of 2 sts, plus 2 selvage stitches.

Row 1-6: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.

Row 7-8: sel s, k3 *k1, p1– repeat from*, k3, sel s.

Row 9: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.

Row 10: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.

Repeat Rows 7-10 until you reach the desired length of the towel.

At the end repeat Rows 1-6.

Bind off all stitches using any method you know.

Scandinavian Bind off: *insert the tip of the right-hand needles purlwise, holding it in front of the work, then insert the tip of the same needle knitwise into the second stitch, wrap the yarn and pull it through. Slip both stitches off the left-hand needle. Return the stitch from the right-hand needle to the left-hand needle. And repeat from * until you bind off all stitches.

Weave in all ends.
