  • Needles No. 2.5.

Gauge: 28 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Right Sock: Cast on 45 stitches with light blue yarn and knit in half-double rib 1x1 (purl stitches are slipped in the purl rows without knitting) for 8 rows. In the first row after the edge stitch, knit a purl stitch, then knit, etc. Now, knit 2 rows with light blue yarn, 2 rows with lilac yarn, and 4 rows with light blue yarn. Next, knit the heel using light blue yarn: Knit 14 rows with just 23 stitches, leaving 22 stitches on a spare needle. Divide the 23 stitches into three sections: 7, 9, and 7 stitches. Knit the middle section, picking up 1 stitch from the left and right sections at the end of each row: 15 stitches (including the edge), knit 2 together according to the pattern, turn the work, slip the first stitch as the edge, knit 7 stitches according to the pattern, knit 2 together, and turn again. Continue until 9 stitches remain in the middle section. Pick up 7 stitches alternately on the sides of the left and right sections, and add the stitches from the spare needle. The total number of stitches returns to 45.

Continue knitting, alternating colors as follows: 2 rows of lilac yarn, 4 rows of light blue yarn, 2 rows of blue and light blue yarn following pattern 2, repeating the motif 11 times not counting the first edge stitch, 4 rows of light blue yarn, 2 rows of lilac yarn, 4 rows of light blue yarn, 2 rows of blue yarn, 4 rows of light blue yarn, 2 rows of dark blue and light blue yarn following pattern 3, repeating the motif 11 times not counting the first edge stitch, 4 rows of light blue yarn, 2 rows of blue yarn, 4 rows of light blue yarn, and 2 rows of lilac yarn.

Next, knit the toe: Row 1 - edge stitch, 2 stitches together leaning left: slip the first stitch as knit, knit the next stitch, and pass the slipped stitch over it, 17 knit stitches, 2 together knit through the front loop, 1 knit stitch, repeat from * to *, edge stitch. Row 2 - edge stitch, 2 purl stitches together, 15 purl stitches, 2 purl stitches together leaning right: purl the first stitch, place it back on the left needle, and pass the first stitch over the second one, 1 purl stitch, repeat from * to *, edge stitch. Continue repeating rows 1 and 2, reducing the number of knit or purl stitches by 2 in each subsequent row. Close the remaining 9 stitches by knitting them three times, 3 stitches at a time, and pull the working thread through the stitches twice. Sew up the seam from the wrong side.

Left Sock: Knit symmetrically to the right one. Knit the heel on the left side of the item.
