Yarn: Premier Anti-Piling Everday Worsted in Admiral Blue ,Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Fisherman (acrylic worsted yarn, 1 skein of #4 weight yarn needed in each color)

Needles: Size US size 7 circular, 16-inch, Size US size 8 circular, 16-inch, size US 8 double point knitting needles

Gauge: 2 inches= 8 sts

Size: 2-4 years old

Pattern instructions:

With the smaller circular needles and the main color yarn, cast on 78 stitches. Join ends together and place a stitch marker. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for approx 3 inches.

The robot chart above is worked 6 times over the course of the round (13 x 6= 78 sts).

Beginning in the lower right corner of the knitting chart, knit every round and change yarn color following the chart until all 16 rounds of the chart have been completed.

After completing the chart, knit 1 round decreasing 1 stitch evenly (77 sts).

Knit in the round until the piece measures 5 1/2 inches from the cast-on edge.

Shape crown:

Switch to dpn needles when needed.
Round 1: K3, *k2tog, k5; rep from * to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2 (66 sts)
Round 2: K2, *k2tog, k4; rep from * to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2 (55 sts)
Round 3: K2, *k2tog, k3; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 (44 sts)
Round 4: K1, *k2tog, k2; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 (33 sts)
Round 5: K1, *k2tog, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2tog (22 sts)

Round 6: Knit 2 together to the end of the round.

Cut yarn, leaving a long yarn tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches and pull to tighten. Secure and weave in the ends. Make and attach pom pom.
