1 skein Inspinknity Superwash Merino Sock
Color Blood, Sweat and Tears
100% Merino Wool Superwash
370 yards/100 grams
Size 2 US (2.75 mm) double points (set of 4)

Gauge:
32 sts = 4 inches

Fern Pattern (worked over 30 sts and 10 rows)
Row 1 and all odd rows: K14, p2, k14
Row 2: K1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k9, yo, k1, yo, p2, yo, k1, yo, k9, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1
Row 4: K1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k8, yo, k1, yo, k1, p2, k1, yo, k1, yo, k8, sl 1, k2tog,psso, k1
Row 6: K1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k7, yo, k1, yo, k2, p2, k2, yo, k1, yo, k7, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1
Row 8: K1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k6, yo, k1, yo, k3, p2, k3, yo, k1, yo, k6, sl 1, k2tog,psso, k1
Row 10: K1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k5, yo, k1, yo, k4, p2, k4, yo, k1, yo, k5, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1

Cuff
CO 60 sts in your preferred manner. Divide as follows (or use the magic loop method and work 30 sts on each half):
Needle 1-30 sts, Needle 2-15 sts, Needle 3-15 sts.
Work in 2x2 rib for 2 inches.
Leg
Work Fern Pattern on Needle 1 and work the other two needles in St st. Work in this manner until you've completed 3 repeats of the Fern Pattern.
End on Needle 1 after completing Row 10.
Heel Flap
You'll work the heel flap back and forth on Needle 1, repeating the Fern Pattern 2 times with the following changes:
Row 1 (and all odd rows): Sl 1, p 13, k2, p14.
All even rows: You'll slip the first st rather than knitting it.
Now work Row 1 of Fern Pattern once.
Turn the Heel
Row 1: Sl 1, K16, SSK, K1, turn
Row 2: Sl 1, P5, P2tog, P1, turn
Row 3: Sl 1, knit to within one st of the gap, SSK, K1, turn
Row 4: Sl 1, purl to within one st of the gap, P2tog, P1, turn
Rep Rows 3 and 4 until all sts have been worked - 18 sts
Gusset
Knit across all 18 heel sts.
Pick up through the back loop 12 sts along left side of heel flap - 30 sts on Needle 1
Knit across Needles 2 and 3 - 30 sts on Needle 2.
Pick up and through the back loop 12 sts along right side of the heel flap and then knit the first 9 sts of Needle 1 onto this needle (this is Needle 3). Place marker to indicate new beginning of round. You should now have 21 sts on Needle 1, 30 sts on Needle 2, and 21 sts on Needle 3.
Decrease
Rnd 1: Knit to within 3 sts of end of Needle 1, k2tog, k1. Knit across Needle 2. K1, ssk, knit to end of Needle 3.
Rnd 2: Knit.
Repeat these two rounds until you have 60 sts total.
Foot
Knit in St st until foot is 1½" shorter than desired length.
Toe
Rnd 1:
Needle 1: K to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.
Needle 2: k1, ssk, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.
Needle 3: k1, ssk, k to end.
Rnd 2: Knit.
Rep these 2 rounds until you have 28 sts left, then work Rnd 1 only until you have 16 sts left.
Graft toe closed using kitchener stitch. Make a second sock!
